Most "best virtual assistant platforms" lists rank nothing. They enumerate 17 sites, pad each with a stock-photo logo, and end with a CTA to the author's own service. If you searched where to find overseas virtual assistants and landed on three of these in a row, you closed all of them with more tabs open than you started.
I'm Kierra Maggs, founder of TCA. I run one of the 15 platforms on this list. I'll tell you when to use us, and when not to.
Four ranking criteria:
- Honest fit per use case, not "best for everyone"
- Pricing transparency in 2026 (no "contact sales" if I can avoid it)
- Replacement or guarantee policy
- Source country breadth
The 15 platforms split into 3 buckets:
- Marketplaces and country-specific job boards (DIY, cheapest, most screening work). Items 1 to 4.
- Placement firms (vetted-and-handed-off, you manage them). Items 5 to 9.
- Managed agencies (vetted-and-the-agency-runs-them). Items 10 to 15.
Within each bucket I'm in recommendation order. Skip to the bucket that fits your management bandwidth. If you haven't picked a model yet, start with our overseas VA hiring guide.

Skip the hiring grind.
We place a dedicated, fully-vetted overseas VA from the Philippines or South Africa in 2 to 3 weeks. Flat monthly, no markup, matched to your role.
1. OnlineJobs.ph
Marketplaces are DIY. You post, you screen, you hire, you pay the VA directly. Cheapest total cost, most work on you.
OnlineJobs.ph is the default. The site has been running since 2006 with 2M+ Filipino profiles and roughly 10,000 new workers joining every month.
- Pricing: Pro at $69/month, Premium at $99/month. No commission. No salary markup. Pay your VA directly via Wise or PayPal at $3 to $15/hr.
- Best for: experienced remote managers who want maximum control and the lowest total cost
- Source country: Philippines only
- Vetting: zero. Profiles are self-created. A DISC AI integration added in February 2025 helps surface personality fit, but the platform does not screen anyone for you.
- Replacement: none. No escrow, no dispute resolution.
One employer reported 285 applications in 24 hours after a single job post. If you've never written a remote job description for an overseas role, you will drown. Pair this with our Filipino virtual assistant breakdown before posting. Skip if this is your first remote hire.
2. Upwork
Upwork in 2026 has a proposal-spam problem. The platform has no effective detection system for generative AI submissions, and a typical VA job post draws hundreds of templated applications within hours of going live.
- Pricing: client service fee of 3 to 10% plus payment processing. Freelancers pay 10% commission, which pushes posted rates higher. Filipino VAs on Upwork run $10 to $50+/hr versus $3 to $15/hr direct on OnlineJobs.ph.
- Best for: one-off project deliverables with a defined scope. Built-in escrow, time tracking, and dispute resolution.
- Source country: global
- Vetting: profile reviews and ratings only. No platform-side screening.
- Replacement: dispute resolution and refund via escrow.
Top Upwork freelancers juggle multiple clients by design. Use it for short scoped projects, not for a long-term EA seat.
3. HireTalent.ph
Only the top 35% of HireTalent.ph applicants pass platform verification. You screen a shorter list than you would on OnlineJobs.ph.
- Pricing: $48/month single post, $88/month employer plan (2 posts, contact 30 talents/day)
- Best for: founders who want a Filipino VA but don't have 10 hours to screen 200 applications
- Source country: Philippines only
- Vetting: human profile review plus AI-trained matching. Top 35% pass.
- Replacement: money-back guarantee on platform fee if the hire is unsatisfactory.
HireTalent.ph launched in 2024, so the pool is smaller than OnlineJobs.ph. If you need scale or non-PH talent, skip it.
OnlineJobs.ph is bigger. HireTalent.ph is filtered. Pick based on whether you want depth or pre-screening.
4. JobStreet Philippines
JobStreet is the only platform on this list that reaches across five Southeast Asian countries (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam). It is also not VA-specialized. Owned by SEEK, it sits on top of one of the largest active job-seeker pools in the region.
- Pricing: variable based on job title and location. Free posting in some tiers; paid tiers add visibility and AI-driven candidate matching.
- Best for: founders who want a wider SE Asia talent pool, not PH-only, and are comfortable with a general job board UI
- Source country: 5 SE Asian countries
- Vetting: screening question filters cut unqualified applications. No platform-side talent vetting.
- Replacement: none.
Niche use only. Reach for it if you specifically want Malaysian or Indonesian talent, or you've already exhausted the VA-native boards and want a wider net.
5. Pearl Talent
Placement firms are the second path. They vet candidates, hand them off, and you manage them day-to-day. You pay once or you pay a flat monthly, not a per-hour markup.
Pearl Talent sources from the top 1% through university professor networks. That is access most other firms don't have.
- Pricing: $21,750/year for a full-time EA placement with managed services (roughly $3,000/month equivalent)
- Best for: founders who want vetted talent across multiple regions, not just one country
- Source country: Philippines, LatAm, AND South Africa. Widest coverage of any placement firm on this list.
- Vetting: top 1% acceptance, screened through professor network
- Replacement: 90-day talent guarantee. 97% client retention.
Mark Littlewood, founder of BoS, has publicly endorsed Pearl's vetting model.
Best for multi-region access with a managed-services wrapper. Skip if you want a one-time placement fee model with no recurring component, or your budget is under $1,800/month.
6. Somewhere
Somewhere (formerly Support Shepherd) is a headhunter. You pay zero until you select a candidate. If you don't hire, you don't owe anything.
- Pricing: 35% of first-year salary as placement fee plus a $500 deposit. Talent On-Demand managed model runs $1,600 to $2,600/month.
- Best for: founders who want vetted hires without a long sales-call funnel
- Source country: Philippines, LatAm, South Africa
- Vetting: headhunter-driven active sourcing
- Replacement: 6-month Perfect Hire Guarantee, replacement at no extra cost
- Track record: 4,000+ clients since the 2020 rebrand
Best fit when your role salary sits under $30k/year. Above that, the percentage fee gets painful. A $40k EA becomes a $14,000 placement fee, at which point Pearl Talent's flat retainer becomes cheaper.
7. South
South (hireinsouth.com) lets you interview LatAm candidates before paying anything. No placement fee, no percentage of salary. You only pay platform access.
- Pricing: $48 single job post, or $88/month for full platform access. Placements start at $1,500/month full-time, which tracks the published LatAm benchmark of $6 to $15/hr for general admin and EA roles.
- Best for: founders who want LatAm timezone overlap and want to evaluate candidates before committing to a fee
- Source country: LatAm only
- Vetting: pre-screened LatAm talent in the platform pool
- Replacement: 120-day replacement guarantee, one of the longest windows on this list outside Somewhere's 6-month
Skip if you want PH or South Africa talent. Skip if you want a managed-services layer running the VA for you. The trade for the no-placement-fee model is that you handle onboarding and day-to-day yourself.
8. Floowi
Floowi delivers a vetted LatAm nearshore VA in 15 days or less. That's faster than most LatAm placement firms.
- Pricing: monthly rates start around $1,500/month. LatAm hourly equivalent: $12 to $22/hr, which is mid-tier nearshore (above South's entry but below Virtual Latinos' senior tiers).
- Cost framing: per Floowi's 2025 LATAM Hiring Benchmarks, working with LatAm nearshore talent saves 50 to 70% versus equivalent US hires, with full timezone alignment.
- Best for: founders who want LatAm-specific expertise and fast turnaround, especially for marketing, sales, and client-facing roles where Floowi has the deepest pool
- Source country: LatAm only
- Vetting: nearshore-focused screening with strong English proficiency
- Replacement: standard placement firm terms (request quote)
Floowi is South's faster, slightly pricier cousin. Pick by which matters more, speed or interview-first evaluation.
9. The Creator's Assistant (TCA)
I'm biased. This is what I do at TCA. Here's the honest version.
- Model: founder-led placement. Dedicated long-term matches, not rotating agency staffing.
- Pricing: flat $1,800 to $3,000/month for most placements. No agency markup on hours. No buyout fee.
- Best for: creators and founders making their first dedicated overseas hire who want a long-term teammate. We place editors, EAs, social media managers, and creative talent.
- Source country: Philippines and South Africa. Both have deep talent pools, strong English, and US/EU-friendly time zones.
- Vetting: hands-on, founder-led. I personally screen.
- Replacement: included. We re-match if the fit isn't right.
If that fits, our offshore virtual assistant page has role-by-role pricing.
Best for creators and founders ready to commit to one dedicated teammate. Skip if you want a hands-off managed agency (try Wishup or Belay), US-based talent (try Belay), or a marketplace gig for a one-off project (try Upwork).
10. Wishup
Managed agencies are the third path. They vet, they hire, they manage, they replace. Most expensive on a per-hour basis. Lowest management burden on you.
Wishup onboards in 60 minutes and deploys same-day. That speed is unique among managed agencies.
- Pricing: Part-Time at $1,899/month (4 hrs/day), Full-Time at $2,849/month (8 hrs/day). Published publicly, no sales call required.
- Best for: first-time VA hirers who need to delegate within a week and want a generalist VA trained in common tools
- Source country: Philippines and India
- Vetting: pre-trained pool with 120+ tools (50+ AI, 70+ no-code) and 200+ business skills
- Replacement: free within one week if the match is poor
- Refund: 7-day money-back guarantee
The pre-trained pool is generalist. For real estate, go to MyOutDesk. For creator work, go to TCA. If you've never hired a VA and need one this week, start here.
11. Belay
Belay charges clients around $46/hour while assistants earn $18 to $21. Roughly 45 to 55% of your payment covers Belay overhead. You're paying for the management layer, not the labor.
- Pricing: $42 to $46/hr. Full-time runs approximately $2,500 to $3,500/month. Bookkeeping starts at $2,000 to $2,500/month part-time. No public pricing, sales call required.
- Best for: US founders who specifically need US-based talent and want a managed layer doing the matching
- Source country: US only (2,000 contractors across 48 states)
- Vetting: top 2 to 3% acceptance, 93% first-match success
- Replacement: handled by Belay. $20,000 buyout fee to hire the VA directly.
Belay is 3 to 5x more expensive than offshore equivalents. Skip Belay if your real question is overseas versus US. You're already on the overseas side.
12. Athena
Athena costs $3,000/month with a 12-month commitment ($36,000 locked in). Roughly 20 to 30% of that reaches the assistant. The rest covers coaching, AI tools, and overhead.
- Vetting: less than 1% acceptance from 30,000 to 60,000 monthly applicants. English C2 required. 4-week mandatory bootcamp.
- Pricing: $3,000/month, 12-month commitment, $24,000 buyout fee to hire the EA directly
- Best for: executives who want a dedicated EA with delegation coaching and an AI-tool bundle, who don't mind a year-long term
- Source country: Philippines
- Replacement: handled internally, though Reddit reports of clients paying full fee while awaiting a match are common
- Pedigree: founded by Jonathan Swanson, Thumbtack co-founder
Premium pedigree, premium lock-in. Pay attention to the 12-month term and the fee allocation before signing.
13. Magic
Magic bills weekly, not monthly. Part-Time is $270/week (20 hrs), Full-Time is $540/week (40 hrs). If your workload swings week to week, that flexibility matters.
- Pricing: $270/week (20 hrs), $540/week (40 hrs), Business Monthly at $2,000/month for 24/7 access. Roughly $13.50/hr base, rising to $35/hr for extra task categories.
- Best for: founders with fluctuating weekly task volume who want on-demand coverage without onboarding a single VA
- Source country: Philippines
- Vetting: AI-matched from a shared pool, so the person handling Tuesday's task may not handle Friday's
- Replacement: standard managed-agency terms
- Track record: 3.9 Trustpilot. Reddit reports flag language-barrier issues and context loss between assistants on the same account.
Best for variable weeks. Skip for dedicated long-term relationships, since Magic's strength is on-demand task coverage, not a sustained working relationship.
14. Time Etc
Time Etc has the lowest entry point in the dedicated-assistant category: 10 hours for $360/month. Unused hours roll over.
- Pricing: 10 hrs at $360/month ($36/hr), 20 hrs at $660/month ($33/hr), 40 hrs at $1,260/month ($31.50/hr), 60 hrs at $1,800/month ($30/hr). No setup fee.
- Best for: founders who need 10 to 20 hours/month of admin support, US/UK time zone, and don't want a full-time commitment
- Source country: US and UK (native English)
- Vetting: college-educated VAs with 5+ years of experience minimum. 4.9 Trustpilot.
- Replacement: included. Easy cancellation. No contract.
Time Etc is $30 to $36/hr versus $4 to $10/hr offshore. If you want offshore rates or full-time capacity, skip. Strictly generalist admin only. Best small-scope managed pick in this list.
15. Virtual Latinos
Virtual Latinos has been the established LatAm agency since 2018. The billing is also the most complex on this list: prepay first 40 hours, bi-weekly cycles in full-week blocks, 80-hour minimum the first 60 days.
- Pricing: starts around $1,600/month full-time, up to $3,000 to $4,400+/month for senior or specialized roles. 30 to 60% agency markup on VA rates.
- Best for: founders who want bilingual English/Spanish LatAm talent with a fully established agency wrapper
- Source country: LatAm
- Track record: Inc. 5000 #80 in 2023. Operating since 2018.
- Replacement: managed-agency standard
- Fine print: 5% late penalty, 3.5% + $0.75 credit card fee. Contract is with Bloominari LLC, not the VA.
Established and bilingual. Read the billing terms twice before signing.

FAQ
Should I use a marketplace, a placement firm, or a managed agency?
Marketplace if you've hired overseas before and want the lowest cost. Placement firm if you want vetted talent but want to manage day-to-day yourself. Managed agency if you want zero management overhead. Our overseas VA hiring guide walks the full decision tree.
What's the cheapest platform on this list?
OnlineJobs.ph at $69 to $99/month for platform access, then you pay the VA directly at $3 to $15/hr. A full-time Filipino VA can land under $700/month total. The trade-off: you do all the screening and management yourself. No escrow, no replacement.
What's the fastest path to hire?
Wishup leads with 60-minute onboarding and same-day deployment. Floowi delivers LatAm talent in 15 days. Pearl Talent places most roles in 2 weeks. OnlineJobs.ph can be 24 hours if you move fast on shortlisting.
How do PH, LatAm, and South Africa compare in 2026?
Philippines is cheapest ($3 to $10/hr) with the deepest talent pool but a 12 to 13 hour timezone gap. LatAm is mid-range ($6 to $15/hr) with full US timezone overlap. South Africa sits between the two on cost with EU/UK timezone alignment.
What about Prialto, MyOutDesk, Boldly, Wing, Remote Leverage?
Prialto ($1,500+/month, 5.0 Clutch) suits executives wanting a US Engagement Manager. MyOutDesk ($1,788 to $1,988/month) is the real estate specialist. Boldly ($2,520+/month) is W2 US/UK only. Wing ($699 to $1,099/month) is a budget managed pick. Remote Leverage uses a one-time flat placement fee.
Which platforms have the strongest replacement guarantee?
Somewhere's 6-month Perfect Hire Guarantee is the longest replacement window. South offers 120 days. Pearl Talent offers 90 days. TCA includes ongoing re-match. Wishup's 7-day money-back is the only refund-style guarantee on the list. If your hire leans creator-side, our YouTube editor sourcing guide covers that specialty.
